ally's artblog. serves as a general dumping ground for all sorts of sketches, miscellaney, and finished pieces.

Artist asks GO!

1: Take a picture of your workspace.
2: Show your pencilcase and what's inside.
3: Show a thing you last drew, no matter how small or a "doodle" it is.
4: Lineart or coloring?
5: Who/what inspires you?
6: Draw a same pic with your dominant and non-dominant hand.
7: Do you have any OCs?
8: Do you listen to music when you draw? Favorites?
9: Favorite thing to draw?
10: Least favorite thing to draw?
11: Draw a pic of yourself like how you look just now.
12: Any weird artist behaviour you admit doing?

Finished this. It ain’t great, but whatever.

Wanted to draw Valentine’s doodles, couldn’t think of poses, DeviantART comes to the rescue with these cute pose references that I sketched over.

Phe and Kyle up top, Wesson and Sitara on the bottom.

When I started coloring this the other night, I realized that I only had colored headshots of Emily, so I had nothing planned out for the markings on her body. This is tenative, but I don’t hate it. The base is German Shepherd markings scattered with Tortoiseshell Cat splotches and a healthy dose of freckles on her face/chest/arms/back.

I need to find a good freckle brush.

(the more i look at this, the less i like how i drew her bangs ugh)

Finally got a streaming thing to work and not crash after a few minutes! Inked up the Emily I posted earlier. I might go back and change her expression, though.

A dumb Emily in purgatory. Used a stock photo for this.

I think that, for Anthrocon this year, I’m going to forgo Artist’s Alley in favor of putting things in the art show instead. Since I’ve stopped taking commissions, my desire to draw for money is non-existent. I don’t want to sit behind a cramped table for the entire bulk of the con while simultaneously hoping that people will commission me and leave me alone. I loathe dealing with clients, I hate drawing things I’m not interested in, and the AA hours are terrible if I want to do things during the day (panels, exploring, etc.).

I think it would be much nicer to pick out some of my favorite illustrations, spend a little money to get them printed and framed nicely, and put them up in the art show. I probably have the same chances of making money in the art show as I would sitting behind a table all weekend, and I wouldn’t have to do the latter!

I’ve never drawn these two assholes together, and I haven’t drawn Danielle in probably a decade, so why the hell not make a haphazard attempt at it.

Danielle is endlessly bitchy due to being a kinfolk with rage (and maybe a little pissed her two siblings got to be full blown garou and she didn’t).

I’ve drawn Kyle lots before, cause he’s Phe’s boyfriend. I like drawing them together, but I kind of loathe drawing Kyle because I have to draw his hair and his hair is either long and pulled into a ponytail or loose and braided into cornrows. I can either make him look like a lady with the former or very badly attempt the latter.

Dani and Kyle are twins, btw, and they’re both keeperofdreams' characters!

Tony reminded me that they’re both about the same height (somewhere around 5’7” and 5’8”) and I totally forgot. Kyle’s short for a dude and him and Phe are almost the same height, as well (phe and dani are probably the same height then). So I had to go back in a tweak things a little and I still don’t think it’s quite right but I gave Kyle a face.

I saw everyone was doing Jessica Rabbits for @Sketch_Dailies over on Twitter, so I though I’d take a shot.

I saw everyone doing witchsonas, so I wanted to, as well. Check out my poorly drawn cats familiars! Ally’s only good at causing mayhem with her magic and setting fires for fun and roasting s’mores.
